Colorado Speed

Check out our latest GM project...Colorado SPEED.

With a long history of building GM project vehicles, MBRPInc have been presented with an opportunity to work with General Motors to design and build a full on drift truck project.

A stock 2007 Z71 regular cab short box Colorado was delivered to get the ball rolling. Although it was a good start, we knew we needed much more power than the stocker would deliver, so GM sent along a LS7 crate motor as well as a T-56 six speed transmission.

While we are building this truck with GM as a DRIFT project, GM will also have our truck on display at many of their larger shows and events across Canada. MBRPinc will also have many other shows, events and various venues where we will also be showing the project. Watch for us at various drag strips and drift events, and we also hope to run the Texas mile and the Silver State Classic events.

This page will be updated constantly as this project develops, we will also update the page with all our sponsors, showing their products and direct links to their sites.

This truck began its life as a completely stock regular cab short box with a 2.9L motor and automatic transmission. We did not waste any time pulling the truck apart. Stock drive train, interior and various other parts were removed to begin the build. '; ?> We gutted the interior in order to have the truck fully caged as safety. It is very important for our driver to be well protected in the event of an emergency. The cage will be mostly hidden inside the truck when it is complete, with only the rear supports door supports visible. Next we chopped the frame right behind the cab and started working on a fully boxed frame to help support the demands of the larger power plant.
