Because sound is subjective, we do not warranty sound. There are usually several ways to adjust the sound of your exhaust kit. Please call MBRP directly to discuss these options.
Aluminized steel is used for the Armor BLK series of products. These exhausts are not recommended for climates with snow and salt.
We have sound clips of most of our exhausts on our YouTube page.
The warranty coverage is specific to the steel grade of the exhaust. The warranty coverage information is listed on our website under product info and in our Warranty page.

All of the pipes are made from 16 gauge tubing. For speciality flares, we may use 14 gauge tubing.
By installing an MBRP exhaust system you may see an increase in horsepower and torque. Fuel mileage gains may be noticed as well as a decrease in exhaust gas temperatures (EGTs). By lowering EGTs you will increase your turbo longevity.
Visit our dealer application form here. Once submitted our dealer team will review your application and reach out with an approval and next steps.
When looking at the exhaust from the passenger side, you should be able to read MBRP from left to right on the muffler.
A torque wrench can be used to tighten the clamps. An allen wrench is used to bolt on the tip. Pipe trimming may be required depending on the vehicle application.
We recommend approximately 30-35ft-lbs of torque for saddle clamps and approximately 48-60ft-lbs of torque for band clamps.

T304 stainless steel will not oxidize or rust. It can develop a golden color when exposed to high heat over time. T409 stainless steel has a small amount of ferrous material in it and can show surface rust after some time, especially when exposed to road salt. If you are concerned about long-term appearance, you should purchase a system made of T304 stainless steel. If you are more concerned about the price, but want something that is more durable than aluminized steel, then a system made of T409 stainless steel should be a consideration.
Generally, MBRP designs all of its systems to retain the factory spare tire. Please check instructions on our website prior to ordering.
Yes, all MBRP exhaust systems are designed to retain the factory catalytic converter.
T304 Stainless Steel tubing is easy to clean and maintain. It’s the obvious choice for you if you operate your vehicle in extreme conditions, backed by a Lifetime Warranty.
T409 Stainless Steel tubing is easy to clean. If you’re looking for a performance exhaust system with a Lifetime Warranty, this is probably the one for you. If you don’t find yourself faced with lots of precipitation and salt, this is all you’re ever going to need. It's important to note that T409 Stainless Steel is resistant to penetrating rust but winter conditions, heavy salt air, and road treatments might accelerate the corrosion process. This is important to consider before making your purchase, as these conditions are not covered by MBRP's manufacturer warranty unless the part or system fails completely.
**Part numbers ending in SLM carry a 5-year warranty.**
Aluminized Steel is a heavy-gauge tubing that helps to resist dings and dents caused by debris under your vehicle. This material can be a great choice for you if you live in a dry climate that doesn’t see much precipitation, or if you’re looking for great sound on a budget.
**Part numbers ending in P and PLM carry a 1-year warranty**
Black-Coated systems are manufactured using heavy-gauge Aluminized Steel tubing throughout the whole system, everything but the tailpipe and tip are left as mill-finish steel for better resistance of damage under your vehicle. This material can be a great choice for you if you live in a dry climate that doesn’t see much precipitation. The black powder coating features a 1-year warranty against factory defects, and the remaining parts feature an industry leading 3-year warranty.

The mufflers used on our diesel truck systems are a straight flow through design with either a spiral louver core or a perforated core. The muffler is packed with stainless steel wool which is then wrapped with a ceramic fiber blanket. This combination creates the deep mellow exhaust note that MBRP exhaust systems are known for. Our car and gas truck systems use a variety of high flow muffler designs utilizing the same spiral louver core design as our diesel mufflers or tuned chamber designs specific to the application intended.
Tour - A mild, throaty sound during idle, but when you open up the throttle a deeper more aggressive sound.
Street - Sound is a deeper tone exhaust note, just above stock level. The perfect mix of aggressive sound when you're into the throttle without being obnoxious on long drives.
Race - A very aggressive sounding system that will turn heads–a great, deep, throaty sound. Your vehicle will sound like it belongs on a race track.
The SDI (Semi Direct Injection) has a sensor adapter plugged into the exhaust. The HO does not have this port hole into the exhaust.
When developing a silencer, we use stock brake specifics–meaning that we do not alter your stock jetting or clutching to gain the performance that we do. We have found that riding at extreme elevations and temperatures may warrant a jet or clutch change. It is important to us that you remain as dependable and reliable as stock with our silencer.
Utility - Sound is a deeper tone exhaust note, just above stock level.
Sport - A mild throaty sound during idle, but when you open up the throttle a deeper more aggressive sound.
Performance - A very aggressive sounding silencer that will turn heads–a great, deep, throaty sound.
As there are many different riding conditions that are available to our users, MBRP does not quote specific db levels. MBRP silencers do produce more decibels than stock, although we alter the sound to a deeper tone. If concerned with the sound level, it is our recommendation to purchase Utility or Sport series exhaust.
Weight savings depends on the exhaust. For example, the Rev silencer #1160309 shows in the last 2 digits that there are 9lbs in weight savings from the stock silencer.
The MBRP silencer uses the stock mounts and springs. There is no cutting or welding necessary to fit this to your sled. They are a direct fit and install in minutes.

MBRP uses quality T304 stainless for the shell casing and mandrel bent tubing coated with a rust inhibitor. The internals of the silencer are constructed with both stainless steel wool and a tightly woven cloth material.
Verify the silencer by retrieving the scribed numbers on the stainless body of the silencer. Contact our customer service department for more information.
